MY THOUGHTS:

Holy hell. It's been over 12 hours since I've read this, yet I'm still reeling over how dark, fucked up and mind-blowing this book was. Damn you, Lily White! I hardly had any sleep the entire night because of this book. I don't know what to say. This author got me so f*cked up in my brain I don't even know if my sanity is still intact. I admit Her Master's Courtesan is probably one of the darkest books I've ever put my hands on. I'm not gonna lie, I cringed and grimaced the whole time I was reading this. There were times when I was reading a scene and I was like, "Oh my god, did I just read that correctly?" and then I had to re-read it again and then I was like "Holy shit! That did not just happen!"

This is one of those books where you want to stop reading and throw your E-Reader outside the window and just get the hell away from the book because it's too much, but instead, you keep on reading because of the author's brilliant writing skill that pulls you deeper into the story until you're sure your mind is left utterly destroyed (well not literally, but close enough). I wouldn't consider this book as a love story, because there was not a single ounce of romance in it. It's a book of pure horror that depicts abuse, rape, degradation, humiliation, actual slavery and other kinds of abuse plus the erotic elements. The hero, Aiden has zero-nada-zilch redeemable qualities. If there was anyone who'd be the perfect definition of an ANTI-HERO, it was him. I was appalled and disturbed by this book at the same time I loved how it blew my mind away.

I just experienced one of the most brutal mind-fucks of my life thanks to Lily White. 4 "mind-blowing" stars for this one! Would've given this 5 stars if they lived HEA. But that's not the case. There's no HEA in this book. But who knows? Maybe they were both happy after all in their own twisted ways. Love this author and this certainly won't be the last book I'll be reading from her. :)

Yes, there was a scene when the hero, Aiden had sex with another woman in front of the heroine. He was an anti-hero and his character was consistent throughout the book.

MY THOUGHTS:

Holy-fuck-a-moly. This book was raw and intense. Most people may find this book depressing or disturbing due to its heavy dark elements, but hell, it freakin worked for me. I still can't believe I have the guilty pleasure for loving this book, I couldn't help it. I have to say I'm in love with this author. Ms. Alaska Angelini is like a magnet and I'm this metal who's irresistibly drawn to every words she write. The story was compelling and I couldn't put it down.

I thought I loved Slade, but Blake... Blake ruined me for other alpha males. He's one of the most intense heroes I've ever read about. He's a former detective and he saves women who are kidnapped and subjected to slavery. In one of his operations, he meets Kaitlyn, a cover model who has been kidnapped and tortured by a man in a house along with two other girls. The moment he sees the damaged and broken Kaitlyn, he's immediately drawn to her. There's something about Kaitlyn's beauty that he finds it enticing and will further become the object of his obsession later in the book. I feel bad for Kaitlyn though. She's greatly adored by a lot of people yet in one unfortunate event, everything's taken away from her. But I love the inner strength she possess in the latter despite everything she has been through. Just like Mary in the previous book, she needs and craves pain. She couldn't even do missionary sex without pain. She's fucked up, but I understand the constant change in her behavior in the book for she was still licking her own wounds. I love the build up between Blake and Kaitlyn's relationship as master andslave. As the story continues, they begin to unravel each other's deepest and darkest desires that both know would only be sated by themselves.

The loop ends of the symbol embedded in her skin captivated me until I knew nothing but the intricate turns. Always. Forever. Infinite. We would be. I knew it. I'd make it so.

Trigger warnings: This book is not for those who are averse to disturbing situations such as knife and blood play, asphyxiation or cutting the heroine's supply of oxygen by choking or covering her mouth and nose during intercourse, heavy bdsm play, sadism and masochism, slavery, and a very intense and sexy Alpha Male who would do anything to bind his girl to him for as long as it takes. Beware: The sex scenes are uber hot!

MY THOUGHTS:

Another classic bdsm romance by Kitty Thomas who I came to love when it comes to dark novels with master/slave themes. This book was seriously fucked up and disturbing that I felt disgusted at times which made me want to vomit on my phone. But the way the author showed ingenuity in writing had me fixated on this story (and other books she wrote) that it was almost difficult to resist. I should feel guilty in reading kinky stuffs like this but with Kitty Thomas, I find myself being pulled irresistibly by her charms as a clever bdsm writer. The book was good but I just wish there was an epilogue where we get to see more of Asher and Grace's future as Master and Kitten. I would like to see them grow and develop their relationship as master and slave after the "death" of the devil himself. Either way, it was a good story, definitely for fans of dark erotica/bdsm romance that depicts abuse, slavery, and other dark elements that are certainly not for everybody. 4 'mindfuck' stars for this one.
